5-Amino-1-methylquinolinium · NNMT inhibitor
NNMT inhibitor that promotes fat oxidation inside adipocytes without appetite suppression
Typical Dose
50-100 mg once daily
Route
Oral
Frequency
Once or twice daily
Cycle
8-16 weeks
5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule that inhibits Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme highly expressed in adipose tissue. By inhibiting NNMT, it is proposed to increase NAD+ and SAM availability in fat cells, promoting fat oxidation and reducing adipocyte size. Animal studies have shown significant reductions in fat mass without changes in food intake.
5-Amino-1MQ inhibits NNMT, reducing the consumption of SAM in adipose tissue. This increases SAM availability for methylation reactions and raises NAD+ levels in fat cells. Elevated NAD+ activates SIRT1 in adipocytes, promoting fat oxidation and reducing lipid accumulation.
Typical Dose
50-100 mg once daily
Dose Range
50-150 mg/day
Frequency
Once or twice daily
Route
Oral capsule
Cycle Length
8-16 weeks
CLINICAL NOTES
Take with food. Effects may take 4-8 weeks to become apparent. Can be combined with NAD+ precursors for synergistic metabolic effects.

5-Amino-1MQ inhibits NNMT to support fat loss and metabolic health. It pairs well with other metabolic peptides.
5-Amino-1MQ increases NAD+ by inhibiting NNMT — stacking with exogenous NAD+ amplifies this effect.
Both target fat loss through different mechanisms — a complementary body composition stack.
MOTS-c's mitochondrial benefits complement 5-Amino-1MQ's metabolic optimization.
